New Item: Choose Your Own Adventure Vintagesque Bedtime Routine
I am introducing two versions of a bedtime routine item in my shop. It is a loverly chart with vintage illustrations. The background is a scrolly frame around a tan dictionary page. It has that look almost like an old botanical print with sepia tones.
I have tried several routine methods over the years. I have learned that if I just slap something together it ends up lost under the fridge more than it gets used. And if I make it pretty I will stick with it longer. As a parent I know establishing routines and a schedule is important to help children gain confidence, as well as set them up for a good day.
With Kid #3 starting kindergarten in the fall, I want to help solidify routines at home so she feels like there isn’t too much change happening. Also I want to make sure we have established a solid bedtime routine so I know she will get enough rest. We all know how much fun a kindergartener with not enough rest can be.
Craft Your Own Vintagesque Bedtime Routine
This item is an instant download zip file with two PDFs. You can print out multiple copies to make a version for each child or age group, or make another for grandma’s house. One file is the background image/frame. The other file is two pages worth of tasks you can choose from to create the best routine for your family. You can cut a photo in a 2 1/2 inch circle. There is one blank circle that you can write your child’s name on or make your own special task (or print multiple copies of this page to get more blanks). Cut out the tasks you want, you can fit 12 or less. Decorate your circles as you like, we edged ours with coarse glitter. I think one of those fancy 2 1/2 inch scalloped paper punches might look really nice with this craft. We also cut out the frame and edged it with glitter, but this was some fine cutting work. We mounted ours with foam tape so it looked dimensional. I used super fine glitter on the name and the “bedtime routine” title as well. Because you can never have too much glitter. We finished ours with a spray craft sealant. This prints out to 8×10 and will fit in a frame of that size.
Custom Printable Vintagesque Bedtime Routine
This item will be a custom, made-to-order one page PDF file. You can print out multiple copies to make another for grandma’s house. This will be print-ready with your child’s information if you choose to include it. We cut out the frame and mounted ours with foam tape so it looked dimensional on a regular piece of scrapbook paper. You can use super fine glitter on the name and the “bedtime routine” title (or whatever else takes your fancy). You could also print out two, and cut out the tasks, glitter the edges, and mount them as we did above. This prints out to 8×10 and will fit in a frame of that size. Please allow 5 business days after I receive your information for delivery of your item.
